Late Night Outsider Poet Notes

When you’ve got a scar that runs from under your chin to your stomach you find a way to hit the exercise bike late at night, even if you’ve had a few beers with friends, even if it’s cold and you’re tired, even if your hips and shins hurt and you’re pretty sure you can get away with skipping it just this once. Then you think about your kids upstairs in their beds and you put your godamn jogging pants on and you hit that bike. Like it owes you money.

Just poured eight Tab Colas down the drain. At the market earlier it seemed like a good idea to have a few as a treat with some fun size candy bars. And four may have been exactly the right amount. In truth it's four too many, but Tab Cola is one of my favorite things, and I have it once or twice a month now. There's so many good reasons not to have it at all.

Alfred Hitchcock is a repeat tonight, and for some reason I'm freezing downstairs waiting for Thriller to come on to finish the night. I wasn't particularly effective in any special way today, although I did design this nifty logo for the Outsider Poetry Slam League of America
